In addition to acting, Vidya works to support education for young Indians by promoting children’s books; is associated with Americans for Aids Research; with Hale House-providing support and housing for children born with HIV and drug abuse; and hosting forums and attending Harvard Aids Institute events.
She was never involved in any scandal when she was single and claimed to have a good relationship with both male and female friends. She married Siddharth Roy Kapur in 2012.
